Paul Blockx was a gifted artist and active on many fronts. He has been fighting his demons ever since studying Free Graphics many years ago, but has managed to channel them into his work. These screaming ghouls have been incorporated into his etchings and lithographs, but also into his drawings and paintings. He has also used some of these images in his published poetry collection entitled "Openbaringen" (Revelations).
In his later years, Blockx came to terms with his reality and shifted his focus to a series of semi-scientific butterfly drawings for his poetry collection entitled "Vlindergids" (Butterfly guide) and a series of drawings based on early youth memories under the title "Vrolijke vertelseltjes" (Cheerful tales). Unfortunately, the latter series and accompanying poems were never published.
However, he never stopped drawing devilish figures.
