Luc Zwijsen (°1961, lives and works in Geel, Belgium)
When we look at the work of Luc Zwijsen, we are absorbed into a world of reactions. Zwijsen uses his clever and often humoristic line drawings to capture current affairs and other visual stimuli he encounters on a daily basis. For instance, he is able to easily express situations and atmospheres in just a few simple lines. The rational and refined nature of his drawing style, as well as its tactile appearance, suggests that drawing is being used as a mental exercise, where everything is dissected to come to the essence of the subject matter.
Drawings as responses to things occurring around us.
